Seamless point surface visualisation

Navigate to Bathymetry datasource and click on SeafloorDTM_demo to open the preview. The footprints of the surveys in the seamless point surface are plotted on the map. The color of each footprint is the configured color of the survey. The left pane shows a list of surveys with footprints in the seamless point surface. When clicking on a survey in the list, the footprint in the seamless point surface is highlighted on the map.

To visualize the depths, first the attribute representing the depth has to be selected. Select "Depth" from the Select attribute picklist. A new picklist is added to select a color scale to represent the depth. In this picklist only the relative color scales and the color scales linked to the quantity of the selected attribute are shown. Select "Shallow" as color scale. The depth is rendered with the selected color scale and shown on the map. On the right the color scale is shown with the link between the depth ranges and the colors.

Click on one of the surveys in the survey list and the footprint of the survey in the rendered depth model of the seamless point surface is highlighted.

It is also possible to make new color scales. Click on the New color scale button:

The dialog opens the define new color scales. Enter "Relative" as name for the new color scale and do not select a quantity. Automatically a relative color scale will be created. If a quantify is selected, a absolute color scale is created. Enter the following color intervals. Click New colour interval to add a new color interval. Click Save to save the new color interval.

The new color scale is added tot the list with color scales. Select "Depth" from the Select attribute picklist and select the "Relative" as color scale. The depth is rendered with the selected color scale and shown on the map. On the right the color scale is shown with the link between the depth ranges and the colors.

To generate a 2D depth profile, activate the profiling option by clicking the Profile button:

A red point indicating the begin of the profile is shown on the map. Move the red point to the begin of the profile and click left mouse button to mark the begin. Move the mouseto the end of the profile. A blue lin shows the profile location of the map. Click left mouse button to mark the end of the profile. A graph windows opens, showing the depth along the profile. Click "x" to close the graph window.

To get the depth at a certain point, activate the identifing option by clicking the Indentify feature button:

Click in the map on the location where to get the depth. A red point is indicating the location and an identify window opens, showing the depth value and coordinates of the point. Click "x" to close the identify window.

When zooming out, there are too many soundings to plot each sounding separately. When zooming in to great detail, the individual soundings  become visibleat their exact location on the map.
