External File Systems

An external file system is connected to a GeolinQ datasource to manage the remote file system directly from the GeolinQ web interface by uploading, downloading and possibly deleting files. GeolinQ imports files directly from the external file system or link the files with a feature dataset to allow direct download from a map screen.

GeolinQ can connect to the local file system on the GeolinQ application server or the external Virtual File System (VFS). GeolinQ supports the following virtual file systems (VFS):

• FTP
• SFTP
• FTPS
• WebDAV

A VFS is a connection with a file system on a remote file server in order to allow GeolinQ to access and import files from this remote server.
