A style consists of one or more style rules. The combination of style rules result in the visualization of a feature dataset.  Styles in GeolinQ are OGC Styled Layer Descriptor (SLD) standard compliant. Configures styles can be selected when visualizing datasets in GeolinQ and using WMS services.

SLD's import and export

In class definitions is a tab named 'Styles' available for every configured feature class object. Via this option SLD's can be imported and new styles defined. SLD's can be used that are applicable for the defined feature object. A mapping window is opened when attributes from need to be mapped to the feature object

All already available, configured or imported SLD's can also be deleted or exported in the tab 'Style'

Configure SLD's

Styles can be configured via the 'Styles' tab of feature objects in class definitions or adding a new style in an opened dataset.

When adding a new style type options to create point, line, polygon style definitions are given after defining a style name. After selectin one or more types a base style can be configured and stored.

Next to de base style definitions styling can be detailed further by adding style rules and configuration of many extra options to style like labels, images, rotation, positioning etc. compliant to the SLD standard. These configurations can be based on constant value or attribute values of the dataset.

In addition text objects can be added and styled.

Styling rules

Styles rules are used to define when a configured style is used. Options are the scale range and one or more configured conditions.

A style is only shown within the range of the configured scale range. When no scale range or condition is defined the style is always applicable for every feature object at any scale.

Conditions can be configured based on any attribute of the class definition of the styled dataset. When more than one condition is defined it forms, in combination with the scale condition an 'AND' selection construct. The style is used when all conditions are made within the define scale range.

Colour configurator

For selecting colours in styling a colour configurator is used in multiple configurations fields. It funcionality is as followed:

  • Use the bar on the right side to select the colour spectrum.
  • By positioning the  'black dot' ' the darkness and colour can be further determed.

RGB colour values can also filled in in the number panel below and values can be copied from this panel to other panel to be sure the same colour is used when needed.
